My daughter wants a bird?

My daughter is 5 and she wants a bird. I talked with my husband and he gave us the ok to get a parakeet. Is this a good bird for her? Is it easy to care for? What do I need to buy? I have a cage already, and I know I need food…Do they need salt, special supplements, special toys? I want the bird to be friendly, so how should I go about picking the right one? Any help is appreciated.

I know will be taking care of it seeing that she is only 5 so please dont tell me she is too young, feeding the bird under my supervision is a good start at learning responsibility.

My dogs eats its own “Poop” and more. HELP!?

I have three Shitzu`s and of course I am thinking maybe they got their name Shitzu from the bad habbit they have, but seems if only the 2 females do it only. They eat their stuff right after they do it.Sometimes the other female will sit in the back of the other female and as the droppings are falling out she eats it.LMAO…this is a for real question,NO JOKE. Now I live near a farm and there are chickens that come into the yard and do their stuff and the 2 females eat it up like “CRACK”! …..LMAO
Whats going on!? What do I do? Will the chicken Poop make them sick, give them the bird flue or something?I know its gross..lol..but advice is needed. And no i cannot move or feed them spicey food..lol. Thx

budgie bird help!!!!!?

ok im trying to breed my budgies but my female does not go in the nest box but she will sit on the perch right beside the hole to the nest box so y wont she just go in?
how can i tell if they have bred ?

how to keep my dog safe from eagles and hawks.?

so where i live we have an eagles nest right behind our house. cool right? but for the fact i have a small dog. also there are hawks to!! :o
when im walking her they end up flying low over us and i pick her up ’till they go away. even on a leash its not safe! she uses a doggie litter box instead of going outside, so i just take her out to walk her 1-2 times a day and a few minutes between. what else can i do to keep her safe from these animals? also- how can u tell an eagle nd hawk apart from the ground when they are flying? which bird should i be more concerned about?

miff buster- i want to get a few more ideas[thank u verry much] and a lot of people do u a doggie litter box, sorry that i love my dog! and my smallest dog is only 4pounds and the other is 10pounds. the raptors around here and NOT afraid of people. they stand/perch on peoples houses. turkey vultures will be in the middle of the rode eating and not move when a car passes or almost hits them. eagles and hawks have tried to get my dogs wile they are on a leash!

parakeet breeding question!?

My two parakeets are spending A LOT of time in their nesting box. When they do come out, they usually stay right in front of it and don’t move. And, they both go in there together. Sometimes the female will poke her head out of the box and then go back in. If one bird goes out, the other one stays in the nest box, and if the other doesn’t come back in, then it will eventually come out. This has been going on for a few days now, and I’m wondering what’s going on in there. Why are they in there together? If there were eggs, wouldn’t the female be laying on them by herself in the nest box? I don’t know for sure if there are eggs, I haven’t seen them actually mate, but I see all the signs of the mating process. I.e. – feeding, preening, all that. They never leave each others side. I’m just wondering why they are in there together. Also, can the male lay on the eggs too? I know I just asked a lot of questions, but I’m just curious. I don’t want to check on the eggs because I’m scared I will scare them away from the nest.

i have a cat and she allways eats is that right she is a very big cat should i feed her less.?

my cat is very fat and she eats and eats she doent go out much she doesnt chase the birds because he can never catch them.
