Robin the bird!!!?

Well, actually her name is eliza but anyway, today my friend was on my front porch about to ring the doorbell when all of a sudden her dog chased Eliza. We didn’t think she was injured, but she was in such shock so we picked her up and put her in a box just in case. She didn’t show any signs of injury. She is about to reach adulthood but she has just a little amount of her baby feathers left on her. At 2:00 p.m. I put her near the nest she grew up in. We heard her mother calling her. (Eliza is not a very good flyer yet.) And Eliza responded. She stayed still. We decided to leave her. About four hours later I checked to see if Eliza was there and she was. My pupppy was trying to get at her so I picked eher up and moved her to another tree. I was using gloves the whole time. Eliza jumped out of my had and my puppy got her and Eliza sounded like she was in pain. I saved her and put her in the box. I don’t know if she is punctured or broken but she is alive. What can I do for poor Eliza???

A baby Mourning Dove Help!!?

So I found a baby mourning dove that is about 3-5Wks of age. Some children where messing with it and i saved it. Good thing it was not severely hurt, just maybe minor bruises but all is fine^^ Uhm..i wasn’t sure where the baby bird came from, I did search for its nest but did not find it so i took it home with me. i bought some Exact baby bird food and a small syringe to feed it, and placed it in a box covered to warm it up, and calm it down from the shock.
One thing i need to understand is how much of the Exact baby bird food do i need to feed it and every how many hours???

heres a pick on how it looks exactly like!!

What do I do with my pet parakeets, I have to go out of town for about 4 to 5 days.?

I have 2 pet parakeets, and I have to go out of town for about 4 to 5 days. I don’t know what to do with them. I was going to leave them with a friend and then someone told me that may not be a good idea. They said the birds may not adjust well to a new enviorment. My home is moderately quiet, because there is no one there, but my teenage daughter and myself. The person I was going to leave them with is single with no kids, so her house is usually quiet too. I also thought about leaving them with my brother, but he smokes. I don’t smoke, so my birds are not used to smoke, and I don’t want to exspose them to it. Someone said I should just give my brother the key to my house and ask him to come over everyday to feed them and give them fresh water, because again the shock of leaving them in an unfamiliar enviorment may be too much for them. I don’t know. What do you think. If any of you are veternarians or are just experienced bird owners, I would really appreciate your advice.

What do I do with this baby Sparrow who’s top beak is completely broken off??

I have a baby Sparrow who tried to fly the nest and flew right into a window and broke its top beak completely off. The nest was way too high up so I couldn’t put it back. At first it went into shock and a couple hours later after the blood cleared it was doing fine. It can breathe fine out of its nostrils and it will not stop chirping (I think because it is hungry?) but I really cannot feed it anything since it has no top beak. What should I do? I called the vet and they said they could put it to sleep humanely but is there any way an animal rescue can help this bird survive?

Update: Thank you everyone for your answers and insight. Unfortunately, it passed away earlier today.

Squirrel Zapper

Did you know that one squirrel can eat the equivelant of what up to 100 birds can eat? This device that I rigged up is very low voltage, low amperage and can be triggered remotely when a squirrel is seen on the bird feeder. I can hold the two electrical contacts and only receive a mild tingle. So, please don’t think that I’m hurting the squrrels for my pleasure. They are not harmed in any way. And, it worked very well in “training” the squirrels to stay off the feeder. Some would return right away and try it again but, eventually they stopped eating at the feeder and happily consumed what the birds spill on the ground (which is exactly the outcome that I was aiming for).

Electrified squirrel proof bird feeder hanger

Tired of squirrels having their way with your bird feeders? Rig up one of these babies! Natural looking wood bird feed hanger with an electric surprise. Watch the video “Squirrel zapped by 7000 volts” to see this baby in action! BTW, in the video I say 2 kilo joules and three kilo joules – I meant to say two and three joules, respectfully.
