Why did my baby bird die?

Found baby starling bird in the parking lot. Thought he was about to die b/c he wasn’t moving much and was breathing heavily. put him in a box and was planning on taking him to a rehab center. He then seemed to perk up and hop around normal so I figured he was okay just exhausted.I put him back outside but by the window so I could keep an eye on him.I wanted him to get back with his parents he was at the fledging stage. A cat ran by and I just couldn’t leave him out there anymore to get eaten by a cat.I took him home and contacted a rehaber for info. I purchased baby bird formula and meal worms. We fed him the formula and drops of water to hydrate him for the first night and in the morning he was doing PERFECTLY. So yesterday we went on to meal worms, crushing their heads first so they didn’t bite. He took them down with no problem and was starting to show signs that he would soon learn to fly. This morning went in to feed him and he was dead. I’m so upset how could this happen?

parakeet breeding question!?

My two parakeets are spending A LOT of time in their nesting box. When they do come out, they usually stay right in front of it and don’t move. And, they both go in there together. Sometimes the female will poke her head out of the box and then go back in. If one bird goes out, the other one stays in the nest box, and if the other doesn’t come back in, then it will eventually come out. This has been going on for a few days now, and I’m wondering what’s going on in there. Why are they in there together? If there were eggs, wouldn’t the female be laying on them by herself in the nest box? I don’t know for sure if there are eggs, I haven’t seen them actually mate, but I see all the signs of the mating process. I.e. – feeding, preening, all that. They never leave each others side. I’m just wondering why they are in there together. Also, can the male lay on the eggs too? I know I just asked a lot of questions, but I’m just curious. I don’t want to check on the eggs because I’m scared I will scare them away from the nest.

Robin the bird!!!?

Well, actually her name is eliza but anyway, today my friend was on my front porch about to ring the doorbell when all of a sudden her dog chased Eliza. We didn’t think she was injured, but she was in such shock so we picked her up and put her in a box just in case. She didn’t show any signs of injury. She is about to reach adulthood but she has just a little amount of her baby feathers left on her. At 2:00 p.m. I put her near the nest she grew up in. We heard her mother calling her. (Eliza is not a very good flyer yet.) And Eliza responded. She stayed still. We decided to leave her. About four hours later I checked to see if Eliza was there and she was. My pupppy was trying to get at her so I picked eher up and moved her to another tree. I was using gloves the whole time. Eliza jumped out of my had and my puppy got her and Eliza sounded like she was in pain. I saved her and put her in the box. I don’t know if she is punctured or broken but she is alive. What can I do for poor Eliza???

BiRDS. please please help..?

OK; my cockatoo female bird layed and egg i think she did atleast. she used to be like really fat and heavy and she started showing signs that she had an egg. so i think she layed it already.
she sits in her nesting box and just sits there and sometimes rocks side to side ; then at night she switches with the male. i didnt check the box when they switched because i didnt want to interupt them . so when the male sits on the nest the female eats and drinks then they go back.
what does this meannn?!?!?

please please help !
please help me im not sure please please please !!!!

my female cockatiels laid 5 eggs that last one was laid on 3/20 well no hatchings yet!!!?

hi my 2 cockatiels are almost parents. my female laid 5 eggs. when she started laying the eggs she was sitting on them but not constantly. after the 3rd egg the birds were taking turns all the whole time. well the past several days i have noticed they arent sitting on the eggs. but they still are. they are moving the eggs too. yesterdya morning one was moved 3 inches away or so so i put it back not even 10 min. later it was back where it was before. then later in the morning it was with the other eggs. march 20 was the last egg laid. the eggs look pinkish with white. i havent candled them cause i dont want to take them out of the nest box. i hear that when you see a pip the time is near. any suggestions on when its going to happen. oh this morning the eggs have moved they are in a neat circle with a complete hole in the middle. what signs are there when the eggs are a bout to hatch and how do i know if its fertile now without touching them.
yes the other bird is a male. they are at least 3 years old and they are mates for a while!! she has laid eggs before but not with him or any other male. but note the eggs have this white colorish lining around the egg like a swirl

I have 2 parakeets and I would like just alittle info…?

I bought them about a month apart from different stores. We are pretty sure one is male and the other female…which is what we want. The yellow one has a light colored nose and the green one has a purple nose. I have a nesting box which neither seem to use while we are home….however, the grass which is in the box, has been brought outside of the box, which i found yesterday when i cleaned the tray…so they must be “using it.” I dont know their ages, but when do they begin to “court” or mate and what are the signs of courting? They have access to the room, for we leave the door open so they get flying exercise everyday. I had purchased another bird but he fought with the female, so we took him back and got this green one. They seem to “love” each other. They groom and sing and follow each other during exercise time. Any links that would help would be great…Thanks
Edit; They dont seem to use the box at all. The cage is a double size which seems to be fine. I dont see any signs that they are trying to mate. I’m not even sure it they are m/f. What kind of foods other than seeds can you feed them? thx for all your help.
