Need help with cockatiels?

I have 3 cockatiels. One is tame and I’d like to keep it that way. The other two aren’t. They don’t enjoy being around people and I feel bad for them. So, what would you think of putting the two untame birds (male and female) together in a big aviary and my tame boy in a cage so he can have more attention. The two untame birds would be the only ones in the aviary. I don’t mind if they breed. If they show signs of wanting to breed, I can put my nesting box with them. I raised and handfed the tame male and know what I’m doing. It is highly unlikely they will breed, though. What is you opinion on this arrangement? Do you see anything wrong with it?

Parakeet breeding?

I have 2 parakeets: male + female. They are between 5-8 years old right now and I am interested in breeding them. I went to a local bird store and bought a nesting box and put a little of wood shavings on the bottom. Then I put the box inside the cage. However, it seems like my birds don’t understand what the nesting box is for. The male bird often stands on top of the box on the flat surface. The female doesn’t do anything. She never went inside or showed signs of interest. What can I do to ‘teach’ them to use the nesting box?

parakeet breeding question!?

My two parakeets are spending A LOT of time in their nesting box. When they do come out, they usually stay right in front of it and don’t move. And, they both go in there together. Sometimes the female will poke her head out of the box and then go back in. If one bird goes out, the other one stays in the nest box, and if the other doesn’t come back in, then it will eventually come out. This has been going on for a few days now, and I’m wondering what’s going on in there. Why are they in there together? If there were eggs, wouldn’t the female be laying on them by herself in the nest box? I don’t know for sure if there are eggs, I haven’t seen them actually mate, but I see all the signs of the mating process. I.e. – feeding, preening, all that. They never leave each others side. I’m just wondering why they are in there together. Also, can the male lay on the eggs too? I know I just asked a lot of questions, but I’m just curious. I don’t want to check on the eggs because I’m scared I will scare them away from the nest.

Robin the bird!!!?

Well, actually her name is eliza but anyway, today my friend was on my front porch about to ring the doorbell when all of a sudden her dog chased Eliza. We didn’t think she was injured, but she was in such shock so we picked her up and put her in a box just in case. She didn’t show any signs of injury. She is about to reach adulthood but she has just a little amount of her baby feathers left on her. At 2:00 p.m. I put her near the nest she grew up in. We heard her mother calling her. (Eliza is not a very good flyer yet.) And Eliza responded. She stayed still. We decided to leave her. About four hours later I checked to see if Eliza was there and she was. My pupppy was trying to get at her so I picked eher up and moved her to another tree. I was using gloves the whole time. Eliza jumped out of my had and my puppy got her and Eliza sounded like she was in pain. I saved her and put her in the box. I don’t know if she is punctured or broken but she is alive. What can I do for poor Eliza???

BiRDS. please please help..?

OK; my cockatoo female bird layed and egg i think she did atleast. she used to be like really fat and heavy and she started showing signs that she had an egg. so i think she layed it already.
she sits in her nesting box and just sits there and sometimes rocks side to side ; then at night she switches with the male. i didnt check the box when they switched because i didnt want to interupt them . so when the male sits on the nest the female eats and drinks then they go back.
what does this meannn?!?!?
