i cant think of the name of this childrens book?

the problem i am having is that i am trying to find this one childrens book. i must have lost it moving or something. well in this book this girl and her younger sister are on this boat. on this boat there are tropical birds and plants i think she got some of her food from the plants and fished for the rest of her supper. i remember her feeding her younger sister and taking care of her. kinda like playing mommy. then this storm ends up hitting and she is trying to bring the boat out of it. i am pretty sure that the next thing you know she is back in her own bed at home. if anyone out there knows what book i am talking about please if you would help me. i remember reading it when i was little and now that i am going to have a little one of my own i would love to read it to him. any help would be great! thanks
i know that it is a little book, something you read to a young child

Mother bird dead, and left her nest with 2 eggs, HELP PLEASE!?

Someone please help me, a few days ago my sister and I noticed a mother sparrow has gotten killed due to our neighbor’s cat, ad we noticed that her nest had two eggs in it. We took them in, and we have placed them in a card board box. We have a heating lamp as well, and we have been turning the eggs every now and then. While turning the eggs last night, we noticed that there is some blood (or so we think) in the eggs. And the eggs aren’t cracked or anything, so I was just wondering if there’s any best way to check for signs of life for these precious babies, besides going in a dark room a taking a flash light how else can I be sure if there’s life? PLEASE someone help me, it would be much greatly appreciated thank you!!

What do I do with this little bird?

A bird fell out of its nest in our back yard and my little sister wanted to save it… so here we are. I did this myself when I was her age (8-years-old), but I seem to have forgotten what to feed it and how to keep it safe and healthy. Right now it’s in a little shoe box, and is an awfully trusting little thing (it came to me when I went to get it in the back yard – no obnoxious chirping or chasing around involved)

long story short – I just need some advice on the best thing to do for it. What/how do I feed and water it? How do I help it to fly? (so we can let it go when it is strong enough) and is there anything else I should know?

Here is a picture of it: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa318/Avelais/LittleBird.jpg?t=1210728630

I don’t know what type it is. Thanks!

Please at least and try to answer the question for the live of this baby bird.?

Yesterday my dog attcked a little baby bird and it has a fat scratch under its arm, my mom said to leave it outside and the mommy would come and find it, i went to my friends house then came back, my sister put it in a box with some water, hamster bedding and some of my parakeet food.my dog has killed a lot of birds before but all of them were dead by the time we found them.so we gave this little baby bird some water and it helped a lot!it can’t eat seeds or hard things cause it is just a baby.it is in my room and its chirping for food, what should i do?i don’t want to call the vet because i am only 13 and i want to re-connect this baby to its mommy, iv’e been crying all night cause i felt sooo bad,my sister and i looked for worms last night and didn’t find nothing,it was dark so mabey they were sleeping, i will try again this morning, but the moms regurgatate the food for the babys,so how do i grind up the worm?what else can i feed it?how can i re-connect it with it’s mother?

Please help!?!?

My sister really wants a chinchilla for her b-day so my mom and i are going later to suprise her and get her one. My pet died last month and i really want a chinchilla too so my mom said on thursday she will buy me one. When we were looking at the chinchilla that my sister wants the other day i saw this cockatiel that was following me around. I really like it too. And the pet store said that they hand feed the birds when they are babies so they are used to humans. I told my mom about that and bcuz the chinchilla and the bird both cost $120.00 i could get either one. I cant make up my mind on which one to get. Please help!!
By the way the bird is very young. Its only about a 1 or 2 months old.

This is Hansel. I need some advice.?

My sister Gretel and I were led out into the woods by our father who was told by our stepmother to get rid of us. We tried to leave bread crumbs behind to find our way back, but the birds ate them all.

Anyways, we came across this gingerbread house and this old witch who lives there.

She has locked me up and is feeding way too much food.

Do you think she is fattening me up to eat me?

My sister and I are caring for a 2 week old bluejay. When do we start weaning and what do we do?

He’s eating baby bird food fine, and we are keeping him warm and he (or she*heh*) is healthy…But I don’t know when we should wean him…And what do we feed him with? I basically need a long detailed explanation of what to do when caring for a baby blue jay…
