Where do northeastern birds sleep during cold winter nights?

I’m concerned about the local birds that feed in my yard all winter long, such as cardinals, sparrows, bluejays, etc. During the day, they chirp and gather in the hedges of my yard, but in sub-zero temperatures they would freeze during the night just remaining in the hedges. I want to know where they sleep???

My parakeet and cockatiel are “friends”?

My parakeet and cockatiel are friends. They do not seem to like being out of sight of the other; when they are they call and call until they are back together. They seem to like to sleep in separate cages. The cockatiel is a male, the parakeet a female.
Lately, though, the cockatiel sits in the parakeet’s cage and vice versa; they eat each others food. They do this once or twice everyday.
Is this changing of the cages normal or just playful? Is it harmful to them?
I ask them for a “kiss” and they put their beaks on my lips. They love to watch TV on my shoulder where they sometimes groom one another.
So this is a strange question, but do they have genuine affection for one another? Do they think of me as another bird in their “flock” or just a tree with a head that is just another bird to them? Do they love one another? Do they love me or am I just the “bird” that feeds them and keeps them clean?

Fun things for rat cages?

Hey! I’m getting two rats in a couple of days and I’m getting their cage ready for them. And I want to put some fun things in there so they wont get bored. What are some fun things I can use? So far I have a bird ladder to reach to the 2nd floor that I made which has a hammock up there so they can sleep. And I have a nesting box with a soft bed inside of that. And I have a rope that they can climb. What else can I use?

My cockatiels aren’t nesting at night!?

I have a pair of cockatiels that have recently layed an egg. During the day, both birds nest on the egg, but at night neither do. They sleep outside of the nest box.
Will this egg hatch if it is fertile, or not if they don’t sit on it at night?
What should I do?
How do you candle an egg?

How do I get rid of a wattle bird that wakes me every morning??He sits in a tree outside my window?

I tried putting a fake snake in the tree, cutting back the native plants it feeds on still doesnt work, it is driving me nuts.I just want to sleep in!!

how can I put my 2 year old female cat on a diet while still feeding her the same amount food?

she’s been getting all along. she tends to eat all of her dry and canned food and then go over to my 5 month old kittens bowl and eat the rest of his food while nobodys watching. she has never been chubby until these past few months and I don’t know why, she’s always been at an ideal weight. not only is she overwight but she doesn’t exercise at all!!! all she does is sleep in “her” chair or lay on the window seal and stare at the birds outside. she has toys, she doesn’t care to play with them. I try to keep her away from my kittens bowl but she sneaks over there from time to time. maybe I should feed her less food than normal, if that’s what it takes. Please Help!! any suggestions? she’s 2 years old and weighs between 15-18 lbs. my vet said that currently she’s about 5 lbs. overweight
oh and I forgot to mention that she IS spayed.
she is an all black American Shorthair kitty.
I have to feed them at the same time because if I didn’t one of them would get mad at the other one. I don’t want to feed them in different rooms because which ever one I put in a different room would cry to be let out.
