regarding breeding my parakeets…?

i have a bird that is about 5 years old(the male) and the female that is likely about a year and a half-2 years old. her cere is a crusty brown and his is a purple-ish blue, but she is aggressive toward him in the sense that if he gets too close she will try to peck at him. he tries to preen her and feed her and has in the past but i’m not sure if their bonded. i took the mirror and toys out of their cage, put millet spray, and a nesting box with pine shavings in it in the cage, but she hasn’t gone in it yet and its been a few days so i don’t know if that’s a bad sign or not.. the male sings to her a lot and chirps constantly, the temperature is right, but i can’t get them to eat anything but the millet spray and mixed seeds.. i’m not sure what to do or how long it takes for them to be interested in mating???? what do i doo??
he looks to be still into breeding its just the female im worried about. ive read a lot on the subject and it says its their own personal choice to breed and i dont know if she wants to.. so should i put the toys back in? and the mirror he was in love with..

Fun things to do with baby parakeet?

My baby parakeet is 1 month old and its out of its nesting box.I usually play with it like teach it step up or something. However, the bird gets really boring he doesn’t like millet spray (weird) and he doesn’t like any fruit.Well that’s not the point, the point is what are some fun things I can do with my baby parakeet? (I can’t teach it tricks because it doesn’t like millet spray)

One more question: How come my bird doesn’t like millet spray?
Thanks!

How to keep parakeets healthy?

We’ve had one parakeet now for a few years and we feed it a bird seed and millet spray (millet only on occasion). I know some people feed fruits and other things though so I’m just wondering if this diet is actually harmful or just not as healthy perhaps?

We had two parakeets before this and they only lived maybe 2-3 years, and I’m wondering why. My dad decided to get another one yesterday and so we have two more and I don’t want to see it happen again. Unless that is normal they only live that long?

Also about their cage condition they have food and water changed once a day, toys, mirror, food treat, and some stone thing they sharpen beak on. Is that all they need?

I’m not looking to be obsessive about their health I just want to see if there is anything we are doing that is actually harmful or will make them live shorter lives.

Also should it be ok to put the two birds together in same cage? One we had few years is male and I think the new one is female.

What types of fruits and veggies can you feed lovebirds?

We have two lovebirds and they layed five eggs, four hatched. The babies are five weeks old now and im wondering what foods to feed all of the birds. The parents are still feeding the babies (we take them out once a day to play with and we used to give them one feeding a day especialy the youngest who didnt get much food from the parents, he is doing just fine right now and is as curious as ever.) The parents, other than seed, will eat nothing but apple and treat sticks and millet spray of coures but i was wondering what to give the babies soon so that they will not be scared of any foods. they have eaten a little bit of banana before and millet spray and sometimes sit in the food dish with the daddy but when there on there own what foods can we feed them? I have done sooo much research on them and found so many diferent foods but i want to know some more. also can you realy feed them dry cheerios? The parents sure seem to like them i just want to make sure its all right for them.
