No this is not a joke. I have many bird and actually enjoy the antics of the tree rats. I have fox squirrel and greys. Last several years some the greys have solid white ears and larger then most greys. Asked our local Ag. Agent and many wildlife buffs. I did online seaches also too with no answers. One know it all farmer thought they were wanna be albino squirrels.
We enjoy these white eared tree rats and feed them. Does anyone have any info about them?
Do you feed the squirrels and the birds at your place?
I have a bird feeder in my backyard, and I put out dried ears of corn. I get birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc.
Trapping doesn’t work as the racoons usually beat the cats to the bait. I do not want to discourage the squirrel or deer so chemicals don’t work. I have decided to live with the the thieving ways of the raccoons, because they are wildlife and not the unwanted domestic accidents of my neighbors.
I was coming in from feeding the sheep and caught this little guy helping her/himself to the bird feeder. I guess I should get some squirrel feeders too. Very Cute.
A pigeon is nesting for the first time in our tree, which is a very popular feeding place for squirrels and other birds . What can I do to keep these predators away from the nest and babies.
I am concerned about some baby pigeons being easy prey for predators because for one, these pigeons have never nested here before, for two pigeons usuallyhide their nest, thirdly, their nest is a popular feeding place for squirrels and other birds, and her nest is very visable.
