Has anyone seen a grey squirrel with solid white ears?

No this is not a joke. I have many bird and actually enjoy the antics of the tree rats. I have fox squirrel and greys. Last several years some the greys have solid white ears and larger then most greys. Asked our local Ag. Agent and many wildlife buffs. I did online seaches also too with no answers. One know it all farmer thought they were wanna be albino squirrels.
We enjoy these white eared tree rats and feed them. Does anyone have any info about them?

Baby Bird needs help!

So this baby bird fell out of a tree and there is no possible way for me to put it back unless I’m a squirrel or a bird..

So I called up the wild life hot line – and I spoke with this chick who had raised baby birds from birth and she said to get dry dog food (which I have) and soak it in water until it becomes spongy. Then feed the bird small pieces every hour.

I fed the bird with a pair of tweezers and it gobbled down the food – like 6 pieces and the bird went to sleep.

Well I went back to feed it an hour later and it was peacefully sleeping in a dream like state. I called the hot line back to see if I should wake it up to feed it and a different woman answered. She told me that she had never personally raised birds but that your supposed to always put the bird in an artificial nest in a box and hook/nail the box to a tree – promising me the mommy or daddy bird would come to feed it.

Right now the baby bird is outside in the nest I made for it with the inner lining of a cotton blanket and ripped up paper towels. I’ve waited and watched from the window for the past hour and 15 minutes and no bird has been any where in site. Keep in mind that it is supposed to eat every hour.

If anyone has any substantial advice or any experience with baby birds etc.

Please Respond ASAP! Thank you for your time and have a great day..

What do you do about a baby bird that fell out of a tree?

I live in rural North Carolina and we had a nasty storm today that blew down a lot of tree limbs and apparently dislocated a few baby birds from their nests. We managed to save one, what looks like a sparrow. It has most of its adult feathers and can fly (learned that the hard way) but didn’t seem to be able to fly when we found it, so we brought it in to keep it safe from our dogs. One baby robin wasn’t so fortunate and was killed by our lab before we could help it. It ate some mushy cat food/water and is now asleep in a shoe box in my little bathroom. I don’t plan on keeping the bird, that would be wrong, but I want to help it. My dad won’t take it to a vet or rescue group because he thinks it will cost us money, even though I’ve told him it won’t, but it’s like arguing with a brick wall. He says keep it for a couple of days, tie the dogs up and let him loose outside to see if he can fly away. hopefully he won’t go up a tree where we can’t keep an eye on him or feed him. Not sure what to do. Open to any suggestions. Just don’t tell me to take him to a rescue, I know that already, but I’m only seventeen and I can’t take him there w/out permission.
Okay, Squeakers (believe me, it’s an appropriate name) is back in the tree, flying around from branch to branch, and we left some of the mushy catfood out there for him. The dogs are tied. we thought he was probably okay when he escaped from his shoebox and flew to my shower curtain.

Other than a partridge in a pear tree, what else can I give my true love on the First Day of Christmas?

My other question is: Why are there so many dang birds being given during the 12 Days of Christmas? I mean, swans, geese, calling birds, French hens, turtle doves, a partridge…Give me a break! Who wants to feed all those birds? Isn’t the chance of catching bird flu a little greater, with all those birds hanging around?

As for the maids a-milking, wouldn’t you have to give the cows to go along with that, so that the maids a-milking have something to milk? Or is it the maids themselves who are lactating?

What about the lords a-leaping? What are they leaping to, their deaths?

Drummers drumming and pipers piping–kinda loud, isn’t it? And wouldn’t you need a big house to keep all those drummers, pipers, dancing ladies and milking maids? Would they all need their own bedrooms? And what about bathroom time? I didn’t include the lords a-leaping in this, because they all lept to their deaths.

So, anyway, if I HAVE to give a partridge in a pear tree, is Danny Bonduce available?

Help help help! BABY BIRD?

ok so i put the bird in a box thing a tree , no mother, where i found it no mother, i looked everywhere for the nest!
and i cant find it!
THEN the box that it was in fell out of the tree! i put it in!
then when i tried to put it back in, it hoped out and ran to another place!
it has feathers but cant fly!
IS THIS THE RIGHT THING TO DO?
should i just leave it and maybe its going back to find its nest?
no animal shelters care for them i live in the UAE i thnk its a sparrow…
btw birds have a very weak sense of smell.. so the mother would accept the baby back.
i feel afwul its just sitting under this pot thing…
