our much loved sun conure died?

Our Sun cunure died yesterday got egg bound on her second egg she ever laid she was nearly 10 years old and a very much loved part of the family.
We are worried about our male will he be fine with a new mate? as they grew up together since birth. he seems a bit sad not acting normal not sure if he has relized what has happened he just sits in his nest box.

We really want to get him another freind, will he get along with a new conure? or learn to get along with a new conure? should I get an older bird closer to his age or a hatchling

How can i release a baby bird safetly?

I have a baby bird that has most of his feathers and is trying very hard to fly. I found him just yesterday at a park on the floor so i took him in. He cannot fly or perch. He crawls a lot and flaps his wings untill hes out of breath.
Should i return him where i found him or keep him in my care until he learns to fly?
Right now hes eating moist cat food and is in a soft box.
I feed him every hour.

Male and Female Parakeets!?

I have had a male parakeet for 8 years now, and I recently got a new one last winter. I put them in their own cages because I thought after so long the male wouldn’t like having a new bird in his space. But I didn’t know that it was a girl! I thought it was taking a long time for the cere to change to blue, and when they finally got to interacting together yesterday, they started to ‘kiss’ each other and she put her tail up in the air and his pupils got really tiny! I tried to take him away but he hopped off of my finger back to her! Eventually he let me put him back in the cage. I can’t deal with any babies but I feel bad to separate them. I think they are bonded already now! I have never had more than one bird at a time. I would like to let them be together but I want to be pretty sure they won’t have babies. I read to not give or let them make a nest box….Had anyone had personal experience with this and what did you do? Also, I noticed that the female eats everything- the cuddle bone is almost gone in a few weeks, the grainy perch covers are eaten up, and she even eats the wood perch…I gave her the mineral block and she just pooped on it. Is there anything special I need to do for female parakeets? Thanks.

My Cockatiel fertile egg laying process? HELP :)?

My male and female Cockatiels recently conceived an egg 3 days ago and the other yesterday. I am just uncertain of why they are not in the nesting box all the time to incubate their eggs. Whenever i open the cage both of them come out of the nesting box or cage and play with me. But sometimes one goes in to sit on the eggs. will the baby birds die in the egg if their parents are not constantly incubating them?

Is it so that when one reports a bird that is too young to fly, to the R.S.P.B /R.S.P.C.A.?

We found a bird, which was being attacked (pecked at) by crows, yesterday. at 11.18a.m. We brought the bird about size of a hand, into our home, and rang up the royal society for the protection of birds!
They said to place bird in a box in a quite cool room, and one of their agents would collect the same. The bird was still not able to fly it must have fallen out it’s nest! It seemed uninjured but obviously it needed feeding and i tried to mash up a worm for it but the bird ner really ate it.albeit the bird did drink a little water. At 8 p.m. and three more calls to the R.S.P.B. I had to go out. My Son, thought they were not calling and as He is scared of Birds, He put itin our back garden. But a Woman did call before 9pm and albeit hey went in garden could not find the bird. Callus again if you find the bird in the morning.
Luckily the little bird survived and was there this morning, all it needed was food crushed up and a week or so in a secure aviary, so he/she could practice how to fly, as it would try but did not know how too.
So we phoned up the R.S.P.B .we were informed an agent would call today, albeit no time was given .
I gave my Son’s mobile number and my landline number.
Within an hour He had a call from the R.S.P.B. on his mobile.
The same woman that called last night, told to my Son, to take the harmless little bird, to Wood Street vets to have it put down, As she could not be bothered to call again!

I thought that this body of people who are a charity, are there to protect birds, not say put them down cause they can no be bothered to call again!
Can anyone advise me please.
tanking you all that may
The number for the rspca is the same as for the rspb =03001234999
I don’t know what to do I can no look after this bird he needs professional help and time to learn how to fly! That is all he must have dropped from his nest yet she states over phone to My Son, She can no be bothered take him to vets to have put down !
thank you Beau and thank you Wacky, I am going to report her I notice on both their sites one has to report on their site to them in ‘contact us’. I live @ mo; in Barnet.
